the Norwegian Dawn ship stopped at the port of Klaipėda, Lithuania on June 20:

took a "bus excursion" about 2 hours northeast of Klaipėda to:

• Plateliai lake
• Plokštine missile base
  • a former Soviet nuclear weapons site
  • located within the Cold War Museum

this trip-within-a-trip also had a Lithuanian midday meal with

• cold, pink beet soup (šaltbarščiai)
• potato dumplings (cepalinai)
• Lithuanian beer (Šyvturys)

did not have too much time in Klaipėda but might look into the town another time
