"highlights"
in Lucerne:
- Kapellbrücke (chapel bridge)
- a covered footbridge on the River Reuss

the next day we went to the heart of the Alps to a spot known as Titlis:
- it was August, but at 3,000 m above the sea, it felt like February!
- saw snow and ice in the middle of the summer
later that day, we would head south from Titlis and into Ticino (Italian Switzerland):

- saw a palm tree at the border of Switzerland and Italy
