2025 in Denmark (Copenhagen)
the Norwegian Dawn ship sailed into Copenhagen, Denmark
(Danish: København, Danmark)
all came off and went in their own ways:
the stay in Copenhagen would last 2 days
from June 27th to June 29th:

day 1
walked through Copenhagen without much ado:
Den Lille Havfrue (The Little Mermaid)
saw this small but well-known copper and tin marker on a Friday afternoon
(almost seemed like a bad time to do it)

a manifold of wayfarers had stormed this overrun hotspot
however, most of them quickly left the landscape
this copper-tin marking-stone sat merely a few feet from the shore
The Little Mermaid: "genetically modified"
a few hundred feet north of the "true" mermaid
on a pier called Langelinie ("long line") lies her lesser-known sister
the "genetically modified version" made by Bjørn Nørgaard:

an unravelling of "false looks" held by the "first" mermaid, perhaps?
Amaliehaven garden
a still and hushed yard of flowers and greenery right in the heart of Copenhagen
on a Friday afternoon in the middle of summer in the downtown of a head stead
yet not many walked in here to see this hidden Danish yard:

Ofelia Plads ("Ophelia beach")
near the Amaliehaven grounds, Ofelia Plads looks much like any boat dock:
a boardwalk, giving somewhere to meet, to sit down and take time away
folk from town and abroad, alike, hang out here with no fees to go in

Nyhavn (new haven/harbour)
when one sees snapshots of Copenhagen
they mostly see this one long flow flanked by streets
on each side with a row of many-hued houses:

unluckily, Nyhavn misfalls from "overtourism"
rip-off shops and un-cheap eating spots make up much of the landscape
(although one might still find some good outlets)
best to see Nyhavn after an early morning breakfast before the tourist rush
... then, have lunch elsewhere!
Det Kongelige Bibliotek ("The Royal Library")
the "Royal Library" has the "Black Diamond" building
going inside, one will find an overly-new feel to it:
a coffee shop, a bookstore, crafty song folk and so on
with reading rooms and book stacks on the higher floors:

the Danish call it "Det Kongelige Bibliotek" (the king's bookery)
it keeps its older looks and feels, as seen in one of the reading rooms:

day 2
after 14 days of travel (oftentimes in a new land each morning)
a weariness had set in with now only one goal in mind:
the "Changing of the Guards"
(everything else felt "overdone" or "extra")
Marmorkirken (Marble Church)

someone with clout booked the inside of the church for their wedding
so, everyone else had to look at it only from the outside
the writing at the top of the marmstone church reads in Danish:
"HERRENS ORD BLIVER EVINDELIG"
("THE LORD'S WORD STAYS FOREVER")
Amalienborg (the royal home)

the "Changing of the Guards" happens daily at noon
... at the inner yard of the "official Royal family residence" in Amalienborg:

one should wait at least half an hour before noon
... although the "guard-shifting" happens all throughout the yard
Strøget (market street) and LEGO store
not having played with these LEGO blocks in years
still went to the LEGO store on Strøget (the market street)
the flagship store of one of Denmark's most well-known outputs:

a must-see to also happily find some black and white bears made of bricks:

end
afternoon came and the heat set in
lazed around in the hotel for the rest of the day
feeling beat by the last weeks of going here and there
before midnight, the sky burst with fireworks from the Tivoli Fairgrounds:

the next day it was time to go back to the homeland...
...but not before seeing this "skate park" shaped like a tired mottled bear:
